Call, chat, messages, let's talk!
Meriel is an user communication application. It offers the possibility of traditional text "chatting", the voice calls, including conference calls with multiple participants, videocalls for two users, and last but not least, the file transfer. Meriel can be classified as both IM (instant messaging) and VoIP (voice over IP) communicator.
Not only is Meriel a client application – it also presents its own network protocol, main priority of which is to preserve highest possible user privacy, as that was the motivation for its development. Strong encryption of all transferred data is the key. For details, please see FAQ section. Both text messages and calls belong only to the sender and the intended recipient, the network operator nor anyone else has no opportunity to inspect their content.
Meriel does not contain any malicious code, ie. it does not interfere with user data, nor in any other way detects or transmits any information about the user, or the system.
The name “Meriel” origins from the Irish (Celtic) female name and means "shining sea"
